Turn Back Effort To Disguise an Illegal Drug as Medicine

NYC's Staggering Arrest Rate for Pot By Steven Wishnia
CN Source: AlterNet May 09, 2008 New York

New York City has been the pot-bust capital of the world for a decade, since Rudolph Giuliani's decision to make public toking a top police priority. A new study sponsored by the New York Civil Liberties Union says the city's cannabis crackdown is both racist and fraudulent. New York police have arrested almost 400,000 people for misdemeanor marijuana possession in the last decade. Last year, there were 39,700 such arrests. The vast majority of those seized have been black and Latino men, most under 25. And according to the NYCLU study, released last week, thousands of them are the victims of police scams, falsely charged with possession of marijuana "burning or open to public view."

The Drug is Associated With a Hated Subgroup of the Society or a Foreign Enemy

drug crazed bohemians
The association of particular drugs with hated minority groups and foreign enemies has a long and colorful history in the United States. The association of opium with the Chinese, of cocaine with Blacks, of, alcohol with urban Catholic immigrants, of heroin with urban immigrants, of Latinos with marihuana, the claim that a myriad of foreign enemies were using these drugs against the U.S., and the image of drug crazed bohemians such as Ludlow, Baudelaire, and DeQuincy all were integral to the propaganda that generated the prohibitionist policies on each of these drugs.

Racial Inequity and Drug Arrests Editorial
CN Source: New York Times May 10, 2008 Washington, D.C.

The United States prison system keeps marking shameful milestones. In late February, the Pew Center on the States released a report showing that more than 1 in 100 American adults are presently behind bars — an astonishingly high rate of incarceration notably skewed along racial lines. One in nine black men aged 20 to 34 are serving time, as are 1 in 36 adult Hispanic men. Now, two new reports, by The Sentencing Project and Human Rights Watch, have turned a critical spotlight on law enforcement’s overwhelming focus on drug use in low-income urban areas.

Reports Find Racial Gap in Drug Arrests By Erik Eckholm
CN Source: New York Times May 06, 2008 New York

More than two decades after President Ronald Reagan escalated the war on drugs, arrests for drug sales or, more often, drug possession are still rising. And despite public debate and limited efforts to reduce them, large disparities persist in the rate at which blacks and whites are arrested and imprisoned for drug offenses, even though the two races use illegal drugs at roughly equal rates.

The US makes up about 5% of the world's population, yet we are home to 25% of the world's incarcerated. The US has a population of roughly 301 million people and China has about 1.3 trillion. They however have fewer imprisoned than we do. 1 in 100 males are in prison in the US. Makes you wonder, doesn't it? We are either a Nation full of criminals, or we have become an overt police state, with our elected (and not so elected) representatives chose to represent the Amerikan Industrial Prison Complex, rather than representing the people. Americans polled support medical marijuana by 75% and 2/3 favor decriminalization yet the inbreds in Washington, DC continue to squander our tax money by incarcerating human beings at the rate of $100.00 per day per inmate for non violent personal use of a few bucks worth of stuff. At roughly 3/4 of a million non violent drug offenders that little tab of legislative male bovine feces cost us tax payers $ 27,375,000,000 per year, give or take.

Politics of Pot
Yes I do agree, but we're dealing in reality.
$100.00 per day per inmate x 2.2 mil seems like a waste.
And it is, to us paying for it. But we already did, pay.
Now they have it to spend. On their friends.
GOPs and Crats make little difference. Both spend it.
Gravy Train growing faster than the Drug Czar's potency threats.
Prison is only one department in the entire Complex.
Journey for Justice Pedaling for Pot
Copshop bloated budgets,
free Christmas presents confiscating cash and possessions,
houses ransacked for contraband.
How much makes it into evidence?
The houses themselves on the auction block,
So some lazy Sheriff can retire on a Rainbow farm.
elkhorn manafesto
Too much cash is now a crime.
Dana Beal is in a cage, for having money, the Marekin Dream.
same cage as indigents for not having any.
Bush Brothers Prison Catering Service liked it.
Importing prisoners to over crowded conditions.
$100.00 per day per inmate...
How Pot Became Demonized
Then down the hall we have the Health Industrial Complex.
Just when ya think it can't get any worse.
The same corporations spraying the food fields,
with crude oil based poisons from planes or sprinklers.
The kiddie corps also "treat" Neurological illness,
selling crude oil plastic bottles and gadgets.
Products making a few a fortune.
Coincidence these same pesticide profiteers,
subsidiaries sell us Pharmaceutical white powder "treatments".
All one big happy chemical home depot.
Abortions and birth defects not mentioned by Pat Robertson.
"Treatments" make money, not cures or prevention.
All without Rx Ganja competition.
Groups Endorsing RxGanja
Adolph Coors and Anheuser-Busch,
Absolut can traffick their booze,
without an alternative growing free on the back porch.
No strip mined silica bottles, or stainless steel vats sold.
Deadtree labels and cardboard to ship across country,
for expensive models to sell during supperbowls.

Then when they threw hemp in the mix,
Now wee're talking some big buck monopolies.
Fossil fools and dead tree pushers.
90 million pounds of poisons just on US cotton.
Exported cattle drinking our fresh water,
eating 12 or so pounds of chemically fertilized grain,
for each pound of meat sent overseas, to nations with more sense.
Who don't fence in nature or shit in fresh water streams.
Ganja/Hemp
Keeping hemp seed and oil nutrition higher priced importing.
Outlawing at first, then backing off, except for family farmers,
to have a non-psychoactive cash crop.
And soveirgn nations, not just enabling gambleholic x Drug Czars.
Wild hemp ditchweed making statistics = 98% of "Green Harvest"
More cellulose for paper and wood products with hemp.
Greater tensile strength, means it last longer.
Hemp plastic and several fibers for textiles or clothing.
25,000 products estimated in 1938,
humm, just after the Marijuana Tax Ax. Coincidence.
Virtues' of Ganja
Corporations taking money from towns,
and homegrown keeps it circulating local.
But that's reality for ya.
Better to blame it on the Mexicans,
and keep the troops closer to home combat.
Sending warships and tanks to the desert,
at $4.50 for a gallon of gas.
I think they get about 10 feet per gallon.
Drug War Distortions
Just buy more advises Enron, Exxon and Chevron morons.
Bush nods and says yes sir,
btw the frozen Northeast seniors,
shouldn't take free heating oil from Chevez' Citgo,
wouldn't be fair to big oil, in the free market we warship.
Bio diesel can be grown locally. But don't tell anyone.
We the people seem to be maintaining dysfunction for profit.
Kept in suspended animation by the 6 o'clock news,
57 channels reading the same fear driven memo's.
Drugwar Lies Linked to Schizophrenia
$500 billion for Iraq, to remove one person,
shooting bold print lies and pallets of cash at em.
4000 dead later, Haliburton can pay off their lawyers,
that appealed the asbestos cancer victims lawsuits,
Cheney in charge. Dyncorps, Lockheed, Sikorsky, Blackwater,
Boosheney Inc. doesn't think it's a waste.
Nor the $40 billion a year perpetuating the Ganjawar.
$300 billion interest spent on the National Debt to World Banksters,
with no interest in poverty or allegiance to Americans.
Maybe that's why they call it Fascism.
Besides... Nothing better to spend it on... DdC
